Prayer Requests

Alliance Women Prayer Items September 2007

[Current month]

Prayer Tool (from the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada)
An inseparable link exists between prayer and fruitful ministry, since it is through our prayers that God has chosen to unleash his power. There are seven ways to help you pray more effectively for Alliance missionaries.

Gerald Chan, Sweden
He arrived safely in Gothenburg on Aug 17th. Thank God for providing a furnished apartment with 2 bedrooms and a spacious living room which is used for fellowship meetings. His workload is quite heavy. Besides preaching on Sunday he has to do a lot of visitations and there are a number of fellowship groups which all want a separate program. He said the ministry there is very enjoyable as people are very nice and friendly.
  • Please pray for his health as he is still overcoming the tendonitis in shoulder and elbow, his ministry and his adaptation to the new environment.
Stanley and Rosa Leung, Venezuela
They praise God for the wonderful children and youth programs held July 27 to August 6 by a short-term mission team from Toronto. 150 people attended the evangelistic meeting on Aug 5 and many children and adults accepted the Lord for the first time.
  1. Pray that these new believers will continue to come to church and grow in the knowledge of the Lord.
  2. Pray for their missionary colleague, Norma, who has been robbed for the third time. Pray for God’s protection over her, and for strength and courage to continue ministering in the midst of stressful conditions.
  3. Pray for their 3 boys who have returned to boarding schools.
Anne Louie, Netherlands
She praises God that their young Mandarin church is growing. Please pray:
  1. That they will continue to mature in their Christian life.
  2. For Mr. Wang who attended their church two months ago but has since moved to Spain. He is reading the Bible everyday but has not yet become a believer. Pray that God will provide an appropriate church for him and that he will receive Jesus’ gift of salvation.
Joseph and Helen Lee, Home Assignment
Joseph and Helen are packing to leave for GC for the next 5-year term. They praise God that He has kept GC church and the leaders this past year, and the church was able to contract a new Christian custodian family. All their health issues have been fine-tuned and cared for. Their home in GC has been kept for them rent-free for the past year, and they will be able to move right in upon arrival.  Please pray:
  1. God’s wisdom and grace as they serve with Pastor Justin, the Board and leaders;
  2. God’s will revealed in regards to what He would have them do in San Salvador;
  3. Sept 7-17 – Burnaby Chinese Alliance Church STMT;
  4. Sept 12-15 – US CMA Regional Director’s visit;
  5. Oct 8-13 Lay Pastoral Training (Rev. Kai-Ming Ho);
  6. Oct 19-21 – Annual Church Missions Conference;
  7. Their health as they resume a heavy workload;
  8. Their landlady, Zuly’s salvation.
