Effective Prayer (from the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada)
∙ An inseparable link exists between prayer and fruitful ministry, since it is through our prayers that God has chosen to unleash his power. There are seven ways to help you pray more effectively for Alliance missionaries.

Anne Louie, Netherlands

• Julia will go to Amsterdam to help Mandarin church from September 10 to December 2. Please pray for her physical, emotional and spiritual needs.
• Pray for the Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration Night on October 2. East Toronto Mandarin Alliance Church will send 4 people to help them. Please pray for people, preparation, STM team and local Christians.

Derek & Bonnie Burnett, Thailand

• Derek is on his first trip to the Northeast. He will meet with the Saw Saw Paw centers in Galasin, Borabeu, and Phu Khiaw. Pray that the Lord will use Derek as an encouragement to the students and center leaders. Pray for safety and strength for travel. Pray for his Thai as he speaks with the groups and preaches on Sunday.
• Jemma and Carlin have had coughs for the last three weeks, and Bonnie has pneumonia. Pray for their health and recovery.

Anne Stephens, Republic of the Congo

• Stanley Kwong and his team will visit Brazzaville and Kinshasa from September 15 to 25 to evaluate the needs of Chinese missionaries that would reach the Chinese who are working there. Pray for all the logistics and the gatekeepers that can open the doors for the gospel.
• Pray for the Strategic Field Review that will take place in Brazzaville from September 19 to 22. Please pray for wisdom and that they might all know God's vision for their work here.

Joseph & Liza Ng, Cambodia

Praise the Lord that Liza had good health in the past year. They also have a bigger place for worship and classrooms for teaching. Please pray for:
• The need of a lady co-worker to ministry with children and women.
• The church wide retreat in Kampong Sam in early November.
• September 18-21 is the Pchum Ben festival in Cambodia; the people will go to at least 7 temples to offer food to the dead ancestors. Please pray for the Christians that they stand firm in their faith and not to bow before the dead.

Mary McElhone, Indonesia

Pray for Mary as she studies and practices each day to learn the language. Pray for perseverance and a good memory.
