Alliance Women Prayer Items August 2007

[Current month]

Prayer Tool (from the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada)
An inseparable link exists between prayer and fruitful ministry, since it is through our prayers that God has chosen to unleash his power. There are seven ways to help you pray more effectively for Alliance missionaries.

Hans and Ruth Fung, Germany
Pray for:
  1. Hans Fung as he takes on the new role as the Silk Road Region Educational Consultant and Developer for the C&MA in Canada, as well as working with the Janz Team on a new initiative called Missional Christian Education.
  2. Ruth as she will be teaching French and Canadian history at Black Forest Academy this fall.
Manjohn and Christina Wong, Netherlands
The two gospel meetings went well in spite of technical difficulties. Several seekers heard the glorious gospel and are quite close to make a decision to believe in Jesus. Manjohn feels that Satan is doing all he can to frustrate and to harass them and the church. Manjohn asks us for prayer support.
  1. Pray for the seekers: a lady and her 10 year old son attended both gospel meetings and have been attending the Sunday services ever since. Another lady by the name of May Lyn is very close to accepting Jesus. Pray for her salvation.
  2. Pray that God will protect and sustain Manjohn, Christina and the church from Satan’s attacks.
Joseph and Helen Lee, Guatemala
Their hearts are filled with thankfulness for the past Home Assignment year that they are able to spend time with their 3 children and to re-connect with many Chinese Alliance Churches across Canada. They are specially encouraged by the brothers and sisters who are allies for overseas missionaries. They are leaving Canada for Guatemala City on August 15 . Please pray for:
  1. Discernment and wisdom from God as they observe the church and plan for the coming year.
  2. The maturing of the GC church and God’s will be revealed to them regarding their involvement in San Salvador.
  3. Their health as they assume a heavy workload.
Joe and Grace Chan, Wycliffe Bible Translations Canada
Their focus is on mobilizing Chinese Christians to be involved in the Bible translation task. In their most recent newsletter they candidly shared their need for financial support. Please email Joe_Chan @Wycliffe.ca for further info if needed.  Please pray:
  1. For their financial need that it is met so they can work with greater freedom and even greater effectiveness.
  2. For strength and wisdom to mobilize Chinese churches and Christians; and God’s guidance to develop Chinese ministries in Wycliffe.
David and Fam Griffiths, Thailand
They moved back to Northern Thailand two years ago. David is a veteran missionary having served the tribal peoples of Miens and Yao for several decades in Northern Thailand. Their most recent newsletter report that David and a few other Mien Christians have been very concerned about the inadequate teaching and lack of worship in the Mien churches in the Association. At a meeting held in May, time was spent in prayer and discussion regarding this problem. Eight of the attendees (including David) of the conference were led to establish the “Mien Preaching Team” that could go around, by invitation, to any church in order to teach and encourage the believers.
  • Please pray for this "Mien Preaching Team" members that they will be used and blessed by God to teach solid Bible truth to the Mien Christians so they can grow in Christ.
