Effective
Prayer
(from the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada) ∙ An inseparable link exists between prayer and fruitful ministry, since it is through our prayers that God has chosen to unleash his power. There are seven ways to help you pray more effectively for Alliance missionaries. |
| Lois Belsey and Mary McElhone (Indonesia) |
|
Lois and Mary need to meet the Canadian mission team in Lowlands,
but the two planes that can take them to there were both having
mechanical failure, and the weather was really bad. Prayer request: - Please pray that the spiritual warfare Lois and Mary feel they are facing will be subdued. - Pray for the details of working out Lois’ visa extension and plans for coming home to Canada for Home Ministry Assignment. She is still scheduled to leave Jakarta July 30 and to arrive in Toronto July 31. - She is looking for a good used car that will get her all around the countryside & cities of Ontario safely, in summer & in winter. If you have something that you think might fit the bill, or you know someone else who does or might have, please write her & let her know. |
| Bill and Diane Finnemore (Poland) |
|
Praise that Bill and Diane had divine appointments with the pastors
and their wives during the Polish Pastor’s Conference. Praise God
that Bill and the Christian Biker Club members had a good experience
at the Biker Rally. They had many bikers come up to them right away
asking what they were all about. Bill and his club members were able
to make many good contacts. Prayer request: - Please pray for strength and Holy Spirit anointing on all the meetings of Diane and Bill, including preparation, set up and then clean up without air conditioning in the facility. - Please pray for Diane to be courageous and to keep moving forward with the women in Women’s Encounter. - Pray that Diane would have wisdom to motivate the leaders from the new church, where the Women’s Encounter will be transferred to. |
| Bill & Ilana Lobbezoo (Cambodia) |
|
They are thankful for those who will come and make two weeks of
English camp ministry possible again this year. Pray for a summer of
divine appointments and opportunities which will produce riches of
eternal value. Pray for good health and safety for the teams as they
arrived in Cambodia July 3. |
| Joseph and Liza Ng |
|
Praise the Lord that they have moved into their new church building.
They have 2 new girls moved into their dormitory for college ladies;
some neighborhood children come to their English classes and Sunday
school class; a few young people come and stay while they saw their
worship. Their daughter Lydia graduated from the University of
Calgary receiving a bachelor degree in Communication and Culture
majoring in International Development. Their son, Enoch got married
on July 4 in Calgary. Prayer request: - Pray that God will bless and make the process of obtaining local NGO (non government organization) status smooth. - Pray that God will help Enoch to set up a God-fearing Christian family. Pray that Lydia will know the will of God for her life. - Pray that Phalla and his wife will be empowered by God to lead and teach their congregation. - Pray for more co-workers either missionary or local workers; they plan to open a pre-school program, to strengthen their discipleship program, and to extend their outreach ministry. |
| Anne Louie (Netherlands) |
|
Anne recently requested prayer for a young man who was in a
detention centre. He has now been released from the detention centre
and is waiting to be returned to his home country. Praise God for
his change of heart. He is now reading the Bible and attending
Anne’s Bible study group. Prayer request: - Please pray that the young man will accept Jesus Christ as his Savior. - Pray also that Anne will receive her new visa as soon as possible, as her visa will expire at the end of August. |
