Effective Prayer (from the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada)
∙ An inseparable link exists between prayer and fruitful ministry, since it is through our prayers that God has chosen to unleash his power. There are seven ways to help you pray more effectively for Alliance missionaries.

Derek and Bonnie Burnett, Thailand

Excerpts of their most recent email: “Last week, the C&MA (Canada) head office wrote us a letter saying the Global Advance Fund has only enough money to keep things going until May 31. After that, would we rather have our salaries cut or lose missionaries and support staff in lay-offs?
This week, 30 missionary families of the American C&MA have been ‘let go’ and sent home from their Fields. One of those couples is Mike and Elsie McCombs, who are just finishing their two years of language study in Thailand. They are our friends, our coworkers, and our teammates in sharing Christ to the Thai. Our hearts are aching.”

Please pray :
1. For His wisdom for our leaders.
2. For His financial provision for His harvest.
3. That His Word will keep going out around the world.

Stanley and Rosa Leung, Venezuela

They praise God for our faithful prayers during their trip to Margarita Island last week. Praise God that Mr. and Mrs. Chan (a couple who accepted the Lord during their last two visits) have remained faithful to the Lord. They even took down their Chinese idol and threw it in the garbage. Praise God also for Mr. Ho who had been reading the Bible they gave him during their last visit. During this trip they shared the gospel with him and he prayed to accept the Lord.
