Alliance Women Prayer Items March 2008

[Current month]

Effective Prayer (from the Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada)
An inseparable link exists between prayer and fruitful ministry, since it is through our prayers that God has chosen to unleash his power. There are seven ways to help you pray more effectively for Alliance missionaries.

M.K. Ho, Hong Kong
He will go to Chengdu March 8 - 22. He was invited by the Sichuan University to give a 2 week lecture on Christian Scripture and Revelation to a group of graduate students. The new school term (the seminary where he is teaching in H.K.) will start in April, and he needs to teach 4 courses including one extension course in Kowloon. Please pray:
  • That God will use his teaching at Sichuan University so the students may know the love and power of God.
  • For his health and adjustment in Chengdu and for wisdom so the students can be benefited from his teaching.
Stanley and Rosa Leung, Venezuela
Please pray for:
  • The ten new believers who are taking the basic truth/baptism class. Pray that their faith will be grounded in God's word and that they will grow strong in Him.
  • The preparation work of a short-term mission team from North Richmond Alliance Church who will travel to Venezuela to minister at their Easter Spiritual Emphasis weekend. Pray that many will respond to God's message.
  • Mr. T., his wife and daughter are new believers, but Mr. T. has a long history of gambling addiction. This family has lost almost everything. Pray that Mr. T. will truly repent and seek God's help. Also pray that Mrs. T. and her daughter will grow strong in God's word and have wisdom to deal with the situation.
Bill & Diane FinnemorePoland
Their first grandson Samuel was born in Ottawa on Feb 7th. Diane's Mom passed away on Feb 8th and her brother Al passed away on Feb 11th in Calgary. Al had been ill with an incurable kidney disease for the last five years. They thanked God that they were able to fly to Calgary to attend the double funeral. They praise God that many Polish workers who served at the 14th Polish Marriage Encounter Retreat experienced God's healing and enabling power. Seven couples indicated that they wanted to have a relationship with God. Please pray for:
  • Diane Finnemore as she grieves the loss of both her mother and brother.
  • The follow-up work after the ME retreat.
Daniel and Dominica Lai, Kenya
Please pray for:
  • Their weekly evangelistic Bible study with about 10+ Mandarin Chinese at their home. Dominica is leading the group. Pray for open and receptive heart.
  • More missions minded Christians to participate in the Chinese Mission in Africa- Consultation and Action Conference ( April 3-8). The recent situation in Kenya has affected the number of registration. Pray for Daniel who is one of the organizers for this conference.
  • Peace and healing in Kenya.
Manjohn and Christina Wong, Netherlands
  • Mr. Y,  a new believer:  pray that  he will continue to trust and follow the Lord.
  • The Youth ministry:  pray for God's provision for a  part-time youth pastor.
  • Their daughter (Mandarin) church :  3 adults prayed to receive Christ at a recent gospel Sunday.  Pray that they will continue to trust and follow the Lord.  Pray that God will send more workers  to work alongside Pastor Anne Louie as the need is very big.
  • Summer camp July 14-18:  pray that God will lead the right people to the camp and direct those preparing for it.
